Trace Lysette is an actress famous for her role in the Amazon TV series Transparent. She was also part of the feature film Hustlers back in 2019. Lysette was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and grew up in and around Dayton, Ohio, but she spent most of her life in New York. In her early years, she was a track athlete who also performed in bars and clubs around Dayton and Columbus in Ohio. In search of greener pastures, she moved to New York after high school.
Her family did not take well to her gender transition and so she spent more time in the underground New York ball culture scene where she found a sense of belonging. She was considered an esteemed member of the group since her early adult years. While she didn’t earn a degree in acting, she studied acting and debuted on TV for an episode of Law & Order: Special victims Unit in 2013.
